Happy Birthday Morgan!

Morgan works at PTC Therapeutics which is a bio-tech start-up in New Jersey doing some very cool work in RNA biology and drug development to pioneer novel oral treatments for patients living with serious and life-threatening conditions (like MS and Cystic Fibrosis).

The PTC Therapeutics approach to drug discovery and development is to systematically target post-transcriptional control processes that can be modulated by small-molecule therapeutics. They believe that focusing on post-transcriptional control processes has substantial advantages, including: Address known drug targets through new mechanisms of action; Pursue a broad range of targets that have previously not been amenable to drug discovery; Target a large number of unexploited post-transcriptional control drug targets; and Address intractable drug targets in a wide variety of diseases for which there is an unmet medical need, including genetic disorders, cancer, and musculoskeletal disorders, as well as inflammation, metabolic disorders, cardiovascular conditions and neurological disorders.

PTC is literally changing the world, and I couldn’t be more proud of the work that the does to make life better for humanity.
